A new installation kit for the Visual C++ 2008 Feature Pack has been released. It’s recommended to uninstall the original pack (version 9.0.30304.0) and install the new one. The new feature pack is available at the Download Center. Before you install, make sure you read the note from the System Requirements paragraph; there is an important notice there related to the order of installation with Windows SDK 6.1.
